There’s an ancient story of a Goddess, a Queen, a Witch (yes, all in one) whose memory was kept alive by “Women and the Rabble.”

I think it’s time you heard it…

Once upon a time, there lived a mother who was wronged, a woman who was framed, a character who was forgotten.

Once upon a time, there lived a queen who was well-practiced in the sacred arts of magic and sorcery.

Once upon a time, there was a sovereignty goddess who was maligned as a witch and denied her place amongst the heroines of myth.

We’re called to reclaim this story
in the name of justice, sovereignty, and all the rabble-rousing
witches of the past, present, and future.

A Story that longs to be untangled,
just in time for Samhain…

We look to mythology to see what the ancients understood about nature, their gods, and what it meant to be human.

We explore the realms of myth because we long for a time when magic was part of life, the veil between the worlds was thin, and there just might be a dragon in the next glen.

Really though? We look to mythology to learn about ourselves.

On Thursday, October 28 I invite you to circle round the fire with me. (We’ll be engaging the mythic imagination to see Zoom as a cauldron that holds the sacred flame!)

I’ll tell you a story of a Goddess/Queen/Witch you’ve probably never met before. This heroine was celebrated on Samhain (the Celtic festival that inspired modern Halloween) in ancient Ireland. She’s a woman of her time, but she also wants to shape the way we look at life today.

And then we’ll spend some time diving within, asking ourselves why this character and her moment in history matters. We’ll ask what she can reveal to us about our own character and about this current moment in time.
