You’re passionate about words.

You’re also devoted to the earth, our global and local community, and the world we’re leaving to our grandchildren.

You seek out the magic of the everyday. You love mythology and the archetypal power of old stories.

You know the greatest quest is to follow the whispers of your own soul.

And, you know you have your own stories to share with the world, too.

Passionate as you are, you often feel lonely and a little bit lost on your writer’s quest.

What if you didn’t have to write alone?

The Writers’ Knot gathers writers from around the world.

We write together. Laugh together. Learn together. Create together. Grow together.

No push to publish. No critiques. No discussions of fancy prizes.

In this group, our focus is on writing practice and your own process of becoming as a writer.

Imagine you had the accountability, camaraderie, and guidance that makes it possible to truly devote yourself to your own creative journey...

What would you write about?

  • memoir and memory

  • the spiritual journey and the imaginal realm

  • mythology and archetype

  • healing and personal growth

  • our greatest collective struggles (patriarchy, colonialism, racism, consumerism, and the assault on our natural world)

Do these topics capture your heart and mind?

Then the Writers’ Knot is the place for you.

The Writers’ Knot:

open your imagination,
prioritize your writing &
reconnect with your creativity

all within the container of compassionate community

Erica O’Reilly, storyteller, spiritual counselor & ordained minister, says:

As an oral storyteller, my time within the Writers'Knot offers me the opportunity to connect in community while also nurturing my creative process - which has included many new tales finding their way from the page to the stage this year.

I continue to be immensely grateful to Marisa and the beautiful space she creates and nurtures for like-hearted souls.

When you join the Writers’ Knot you will:

  • Write during three or four live writing practice sessions per month: these 60 minute sessions include 45 minutes of prompted writing followed by a brief chance to share with the group.

  • Form lasting friendships in our online forum where you can share resources and find peer support.

We meet just about every week.

Join us on Mondays at 7 PM ET

Myra Oney, health coach & reiki master, says:

Marisa's Writers Knot sessions frequently light a creative spark that leads me to writing longer, more in-depth essays. I am grateful for the chance to explore topics I might not have considered before.

Writing in community will transform your relationship to your individual writing practice

Our approach is simple:

We trust that sitting down to write with others will make it possible for unexpected, powerful new ideas to show up on the page.

We believe that sharing our process and our insights opens everyone to new inspiration and endless synchronicity.

Every member of the Writers’ Knot is on their own unique journey.

  • Some members journal daily

  • Some members depend on this one hour a week of writing practice to pick up a pen

  • Some members are working on book

  • Some members are writing for their businesses regularly

  • Some members will take the prompts and use them to access memories, philosophical questions, and the imagination in totally unexpected ways

Amber Posey, nurse practitioner, psychotherapist & coach

Marisa’s group was the holding space—a virtual cozy and sacred third space— I came to for my own desires & needs as someone who works with creating containers for others.

Releasing into a creative, warm environment and giving myself this gift has sparked & sustained my fire when I was feeling burned out.

What can you expect when you join the Writers’ Knot?

  • three live writing practice sessions per month: prompted writing followed by a brief period to share what came through for you.

  • a Writers’ Salon at least every other month where we’ll share works-in-progress, you can ask questions about the craft of writing, and receive some coaching on the creative process

  • an online community where you can connect with other writers throughout the program

A few more important details you may be wondering about:

  • This is not a critique group. We gather to learn from each other and celebrate each other.

  • No one is in competition to produce or publish.

  • You never have to read your work aloud if you don't want to.

  • We are guided by compassion, curiosity, and a dedication to personal and collective growth. You're asked to show up for your own stories and open yourself to be inspired by the words, ideas, and questions that the other members bring to the group.

Meet your guide through the Writers’ Knot

I’m Marisa, and I’m a writing coach, story healer, myth worker, author, and the host of the KnotWork Storytelling podcast.

I’ve been running online writing communities since 2018 and, though the name of the group has changed over the years, the fundamental mission has always been the same.

In the Writers Knot, we're storytellers and poets, memoirists and bloggers, novelists and artists who use words to unlock their inner world.

We welcome open-minded, big-hearted creatives, spiritual seekers, and dreamers who have decided to be brave enough to claim the title of “writer” and meet themselves on the page.

Together, we work out our creative tangles and weave new stories.

Karla Rexforo, healer, visionary artist & oracle deck creator

Marisa holds the space for words to flow with heart and intention. In her virtual circle I am taken to sitting around a fire with others— sharing story and inviting in wisdom from one another and the flames.

Deep gratitude to you Marisa for the care and shepherding you bring through the forest of word and feeling.

Five months in the Writers Knot offers you the chance to commit to yourself and your writing -
soulfully and wholeheartedly.

  • Prioritize your creativity.

  • Commit to your writing practice.
